Shooting incident - Sheridan Street, north Belfast

Detectives are appealing for information following a shooting incident in an alleyway between Sheridan Street and Donore Court, Belfast in the early hours of this morning, Monday, 9 May in which a man in his twenties was injured.


Shortly before 1.00am as the man was walking along the alleyway he was shot a number of times to the body. He has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.


Detective Inspector Mary White would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at this time or anyone who has any information about this incident to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime, Musgrave PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101.


Police would also appeal to the driver of a car who stopped and took the injured party to hospital to contact them as they may have information which would help us with our enquiries.
