Shooting - Carlisle Square, North Belfast

A 17 year old youth has been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg following an incident in the New Lodge area of North Belfast.

At around 7.30pm on Monday 9 May police and paramedics responded to reports of a shooting in Carlisle Square. The teenager was found to have been shot a number of times in the leg. His injuries are not life threatening.

Detective Inspector Mary White is appealing for witnesses. Detectives can be contacted in 101 or info can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
