Police have arrested a man following the search of a vehicle in the Dargan Road area of Belfast this morning, Thursday 10 October.
Thirty-two kilograms of suspected herbal cannabis, with an estimated street value of approximately £600,000, were seized as part of a large operation.
Detective Inspector Richard Thornton said: “A 45-year-old man was arrested this morning on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply. He remains in custody, assisting with enquiries."
He continued: “We are committed to tackling the illegal supply and use of drugs. Like all illegal drugs, cannabis can have devastating, life-changing effects.
“We are appealing to anyone with information about illegal drugs or drug dealing in their area to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
“Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
