Hoax device discovered: Springfield Road, Belfast

At around 3am this morning, Tuesday 12 July, a proactive police patrol discovered a suspicious object on the Springfield Road, Belfast

Chief Superintendent Chris Noble said: "Roads in the area were closed and a number of controlled explosions were carried out by ATO.

The device was declared a hoax and roads were reopened at approximately 5am. Police will continue to carry out proactive patrols in this and other areas to keep people safe.”
