UPDATE: Man charged with shooting incident – Sheridan Street, North Belfast

Detectives from Reactive Crime have charged a 51 year old man with attempted murder and carrying a firearm with intent. He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on the morning of Saturday 14 May.

As is normal procedure, all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Reid said: "The 51 year old man was arrested on Thursday 12 May following a paramilitary style shooting in north Belfast on Monday 9 May where a man aged in his 20s sustained a number of gunshot wounds. The attack took place in an alleyway between Sheridan Street and Donore Court in the early hours of the morning.

"A 46 year old man was arrested on Wednesday 11 May in connection with this investigation but was later released on police bail pending further enquiries."
