Detectives from PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch investigating a shooting incident in the Central Drive area of Derry/Londonderry on Monday, 27 March arrested a 20 year old man yesterday in Meehan Square in the city yesterday.
He was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite in Belfast for questioning and was later released unconditionally.
Detective Inspector Andy Workman said: “This planned arrest operation was part of our continuing efforts to investigate the attack on a 23-year-old man in March. It was a vicious incident in which he was shot in the leg.
“The person or people responsible need to be brought to justice. Since the shooting detectives have carried out a number of searches and made a total of 11 arrests.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that will assist the investigation to contact us on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
