Man questioned in Michael McGibbon murder probe released

A 34 year old man arrested in connection with the murder of Michael McGibbon has been released from custody.

33 year old Mr McGibbon, a father of four, died after he was shot several times in the leg in Butler Place in north Belfast on Friday night, 15 April.

The male arrested yesterday in connection with the killing was questioned at Musgrave Police station in Belfast and was released unconditionally this evening, Monday 18 April.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson is urging the community to come forward with information: "This was a callous crime that robbed a wife of her husband and four children of their father. We want to be able to find the people responsible and bring them to justice. The support of the community and that local information will be vital in doing so.
