Hijacking - Stockman's Lane, Belfast

Police in south Belfast are investigating the hijacking of a car at Stockman’s Lane on Tuesday 19th April.

The owner of the purple coloured Smart car was approached by a man, after parking his car just before 10pm, and threatened to hand over his keys. The keys were handed over and the man made off in the car in the direction of the motorway. The car was recovered a short time later at Roumania Rise in west Belfast. The suspect was described as being of slim build and was wearing a light grey hooded top, a baseball cap with dark peak and dark coloured trainers.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident at Stockman’s Lane or the car being abandoned at Roumania Rise to contact officers at Lisburn Road on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
