Man arrested in connection with Peatlands Park serious sexual assault - Dungannon

A man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Peatlands Park, Dungannon earlier this week.

A woman was attacked by an male in the park at around 2.45pm on Wednesday, 27 April while walking her dog.

Speaking on Friday morning, 29 April, Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Lynne Knox confirmed that a 23 year old man had now been arrested: "He is currently in police custody assisting us with our enquiries."

The Police Service of Northern Ireland is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that will assist the investigation to contact us on the non-emergency number 101.
