Assistant Chief Constable Alan Todd said: “I regrettably have to announce the closure of the Risk Avoidance and Danger Awareness Resource Centre (RADAR). We have been trying to find a sustainable solution for the Centre for some time but despite the best efforts of all our staff and partners we have been unable to achieve this.

“Due to funding pressures we have had to take the difficult decision to close the Centre despite the efforts of all partners.

“I have met with staff to update them on the current situation and we are now working through the details of the closure process including proposals for staff reallocation.

“I would like to put on record my sincere thanks to all of the staff who have worked in the Centre over the past few years.

“The Centre will close on Friday 20th December and it is hoped that the majority of existing bookings can be accommodated but, if not, the staff will be in touch directly with those affected.”
