Operation Torus is a policing initiative which deals with the issue of street level drug dealing across Northern Ireland. The campaign runs at various times of the year and is designed to encourage reporting of drug dealing.
We are committed to protecting communities and are working with local residents, community representatives, businesses and elected representatives to tackle the issue of drug supply.
In the most recent phase of Operation Torus campaign which ran from 7 September to 31 October 2015 we:
- Seized £1.35 million worth of drugs.
- Conducted 1,166 searches.
- Effected 532 arrests.
- Made 731 drugs seizures.
- Charged 44 suspects and reported 74 to the Public Prosecution Service.
If you have information about the illegal sale and use of drugs in your area please contact police on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
