The Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership has evolved from the Northern Ireland Safety Camera Scheme introduced into Northern Ireland on 1st July 2003.

The partnership includes representatives from the following:

  • Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA)
  • Department for Infrastructure (DfI)
  • Department of Justice
  • Police Service of Northern Ireland
  • Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunal Service

Aims of the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership

The aim of the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership is:

  • To support the Draft Road Safety Strategy for Northern Ireland to 2030 by reducing speeding and the number of injury collisions on the roads of Northern Ireland by targeted enforcement using a range of approved safety camera technology.
     
  • To support the Draft Road Safety Strategy for Northern Ireland to 2030 by delivery of educational campaigns, initiatives and direct interventions.
