The Police Service of Northern Ireland's Corporate Information Unit does not provide criminal history checks for employment vetting.

If you are a disclosure for employment purposes please contact Access NI on 0300 200 7888 or go to the nidirect website

The current procedure whereby companies require individuals to exercise their rights under Subject Access provisions in the data protection legislation as a form of vetting is considered to be unlawful. It is a criminal offence for the employer to ask individuals to go through this process as a condition of employment.

If you are going to work as a paid employee or as a volunteer for an organisation and your work will bring you into contact with children or vulnerable adults and have been asked to apply for a criminal record check please apply on the nidirect website

If you require a criminal record check as you are seeking to work with children overseas then you must apply for an International Child Protection Certificate. This is a specific criminal record check for UK nationals or people who have lived in the UK who need a criminal record check to work or volunteer with children abroad. For more information or to make an application visit the ACRO Criminal Records website.
