Your Local Policing Area

Local policing in the Ards and North Down District is delivered by Local Policing Response Teams (LPRTs) and Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (LNPTs).

Communities living in the Ards and North Down District have five LPRTs based in Newtownards and Bangor Police Stations, providing 24 hour cover to keep people safe.

Local Neighbourhood Policing

There are three LNPTs who cover every district electoral ward in the Ards and North Down District. 

LNPTs are based in based in Newtownards, Bangor Police Stations and work in partnership with communities as well as statutory and voluntary bodies to address local issues and concerns and find long lasting solutions.

The teams are committed to improving your quality of life and building safer communities with you. Your neighbourhood officers work in partnership with other agencies in health, education and local government to deliver collaborative solutions.

Foreword from District Commander

We are working hard every day in Ards and North Down to provide a safe environment and community for everyone who works, lives and visits here.

We have two police stations across the district in Newtownards and Bangor and deliver 24/7 policing with five Local Policing Response Teams (LPRTs) and three Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (LNPTs) responding to your calls for service.

Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of the service we deliver and we work closely with our partners in different sectors to find comprehensive and long lasting solutions to the concerns you raise.
