Derry City and Strabane District follows the boundary of the newly formed Derry City and Strabane District Council encompassing the city of Derry City and the town of Strabane with a number of smaller rural communities such as Eglinton, Claudy, Park and Castlederg.

Your Local Policing Area

Communities living in Derry City and Strabane District have ten Local Policing Response Teams (LPRTs) based in Strand Road and Strabane Police Stations, providing 24 hour cover to keep people safe.

Local Neighbourhood Policing

There are four LNPTs who cover every district electoral ward in the Derry City and Strabane District.

LNPTs are based in Strand Road, Waterside and Strabane Police Stations and work in partnership with communities as well as statutory and voluntary bodies to address local issues and concerns and find long lasting solutions.

The teams are committed to improving your quality of life and building safer communities with you. Your neighbourhood officers work in partnership with other agencies in health, education and local government to deliver collaborative solutions.

Foreword from District Commander

We are working hard every day in Derry City and Strabane to provide a safe environment and community for everyone who works, lives and visits here.

We have 3 police stations across the district in Derry City and Strabane and deliver 24/7 policing with ten Local Policing Response Teams (LPRTs) and four Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams (LNPTs) responding to your calls for service.

Neighbourhood policing is at the heart of the service we deliver and we work closely with our partners in different sectors to find comprehensive and long lasting solutions to the concerns you raise.
