The drugs seized.

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Bangor District Support Team recently conducted a search at a property in the North Street area of Newtownards.

A significant cannabis cultivation was located which included ventilation, hydroponic and lighting equipment as well as plants at various stages of growth.

Staff from Northern Ireland Electricity assisted in making the property safe due to electricity being bypassed.

During the search on Sunday afternoon, 24th March, the team seized suspected herbal cannabis with an approximate street value of £40,000.

A police spokesperson said: "We are actively committed to removing drugs from our streets and will proactively investigate and carry out searches to disrupt this activity and those involved in the drugs trade."
