Police in Derry/Londonderry have seized suspected Class B drugs and a quantity of cash following a search of a property in the city. 

Officers from the District Support Team seized a quantity of suspected cannabis and approximately £5,000 of cash during the search in the Waterside area at around 6.40pm yesterday evening, Monday 1st November.

A man, aged 26 years old, was arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences, including possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. He has since been released on police bail to return for further questioning at a later date. A woman, aged 27 years old, who was also arrested, was released on police bail to allow for further police enquiries.

Inspector Hamilton said: "Drugs have no place in our community and, through Operation Dealbreaker, we’ll continue to tackle the supply, use and harm caused by illegal drugs. 
"We're grateful for the support from the local community, and I want to take this opportunity to encourage anyone with information, or concerns, about drugs in your area, call us on 101. The quicker we receive information the quicker we can act. Even if you think it's not significant, it could make a difference.”
