Police in Derry/ Londonderry are appealing for information and witnesses following a reported burglary in the city on Thursday, 16th November.

Inspector Mailey said: “Police received a report shortly before 9.40pm on Thursday that a residential property in Collon Lane had been burgled. CCTV showed that this occurred at 7.38pm.”

“The front door to the property had been forced open and a number of rooms in the property were ransacked. A number of items including a sum of cash were stolen.”

“Thankfully, no one was in the house at the time but the owner has understandably been left extremely shaken by the intrusion.

“Our investigation is underway and we’re appealing to anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area between 7.30pm and 8pm to make contact with police.”

“We’re keen to also hear from anyone who noticed two men in light-coloured clothing with their faces covered.”

Anyone with information, including mobile, dash-cam or CCTV footage, can contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1736 16/11/23.
