Detectives in Newry are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of a burglary in the city.
Detective Sergeant Dougherty said: “Police received a report shortly before 6.30pm on Thursday, 16th November that a house had been entered in the Cecil Street area sometime after 12pm on the same day.
“The front door to the property had been forced open and a number of rooms in the property were also ransacked. A pair of trainers were stolen. Thankfully, no one was in the house at the time.
“Our investigation is now underway and we’re appealing to anyone who noticed anything suspicious to make contact with police.
“We’re keen to also hear from anyone who noticed a man in the area around 5.40pm on Thursday, 16th November who was wearing tracksuit bottoms, a dark coat and baseball cap.”
