Detectives are appealing for information following a report of an attempted armed robbery at business premises at the Donegall Road area of Belfast on Sunday 13th August.

Shortly after 6:20pm, it was reported to police that a masked male entered a fast-food restaurant in the area. The male, who is described as wearing a blue jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms, grey trainers and a baseball cap, is believed to have been armed with a suspected firearm. It was reported the male approached a member of staff and demanded money, but made off empty handed on foot along the Donegall Road. There were no reports of any injuries, but the male staff member was left badly shaken following the incident.

Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1483 13/08/23.
