Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Paramilitary Crime Task Force have welcomed the sentencing of a man at Belfast Crown Court today, Friday 24th November. 

40 year old Gary Toan received a 9 month custodial sentence and 9 months on licence for possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply, converting criminal property, possession of a prohibited weapon and distributing article which infringes copyright.

Detective Constable Montgomery said: “The charges relate to a search of a residential and business premises on June 9th 2022 as part of our ongoing investigation into criminality linked to the West Belfast UDA.

“Today’s sentencing is part of our ongoing commitment to bring those involved in the supply of drugs before the courts. I would appeal to anyone who has information about paramilitary activity including the supply of illegal drugs, to contact detectives on 101.
