Police investigating the theft of a vehicle in the south Belfast area on Friday evening, April 12th have arrested a 16-year-old male.

Inspector Barry Edgar said: “We received a report at around 10.00pm that an unknown male had taken a car from outside a property in the Trossachs Gardens and drove off before crashing into a nearby lamp post.

“Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and arrested the male on suspicion of a number of offences, he is currently in police custody assisting police.

“Enquiries are ongoing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident  to contact 101 quoting reference number CW 1952 - 12/04/24."
