Today, Wednesday 11th January, a 24 year old man from the Randalstown area was sentenced at Antrim Crown Court for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Tony McNally will serve 10.5 months in custody and 10.5 months on licence.

Detective Chief Inspector Kerry Brennan said:  “McNally physically attacked this young woman, resulting in head injuries and leaving her traumatised.

“I would like to commend her bravery working with us and assisting our investigation.

“Our message would be to anyone who has been subjected to violence, abuse or intimidation of any kind to please come forward and report to Police by calling 101, or in an emergency call 999.”
