Throughout the Student Officer Development Programme, students commit to regular fitness sessions which include strength and conditioning, cardio workouts and much more. The Student officers are pushed and expected to maintain a high level of fitness throughout the course.

The Student officers are pushed and expected to maintain a high level of fitness throughout the course. “I was worried about PE when I started in Garnerville. I have always struggled with fitness but I have to say, I feel fitter than I’ve ever been before. The PE department run extra sessions and I love attending these, definitely a great start to the day. The quality of our sessions are outstanding and I really appreciate having a fully qualified PTI running them. I would now say PE is one of my favourite aspects of the course, I could never have imagined myself saying that before.”

“The Physical Education element of the course has been tough, but I have enjoyed each session. The Physical Training Staff push you to maximum effort and to challenge yourself. The students also help to encourage and push you on. My cardio fitness is good so I’ve pushed myself to improve my strength and core. I’ve really seen an improvement in my overall fitness since beginning my training in Garnerville.”

“I wasn’t overly excited about PE when I first started Garnerville, but my opinion changed very quickly. I was not a gym goer or overly fitness orientated before Garnerville, and I was worried that I would struggle. I am now enjoying PE and have to say that all the staff are fantastic, supportive, approachable motivators. They will go above and beyond for you if you give it 100%. I have seen massive improvements in my physical and mental well being by attending PE and completing the weekly workouts. I will most definitely continue my weekly workouts after attesting from Garnerville.”

However, more recently I have really started to notice a huge increase in my fitness helped by the three sessions per week. I have really come to enjoy it.”
