Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

Question 1
Total number of garage break-ins in your area in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 to date, broken down by calendar month.  

Clarification Sought: 
Are you requesting information on residential burglaries where a garage/shed/outbuilding has been burgled, or do you require all such burglaries i.e. including business and community burglaries?

Clarification Received: 
Yes, just residential burglaries please.

The following table is based on all recorded burglary - residential offences where the location was described as Garage, during the period January 2022 and September 2025.

Could we have the number that relate to garage, shed or outbuilding break-ins specifically, too.

The following table is based on all recorded burglary - residential offences where the location was described as Garage, Shed, or was another unconnected building, during the period January 2022 and September 2025.  Other unconnected buildings have been identified where the location subtype was Outbuilding - Office or Outbuilding - Other, or where the offence code indicated an unconnected building which was not otherwise described as Garage or Shed.

Do you have the raw data for the time of day logged for each burglary?

The following table is based on all recorded burglary - residential offences where the location was described as Garage, Shed, or was another unconnected building, during the period January 2022 and September 2025.  Other unconnected buildings have been identified where the location subtype was Outbuilding - Office or Outbuilding - Other, or where the offence code indicated an unconnected building which was not otherwise described as Garage or Shed.  The occurrence time is based on the occurrence time from field.  An offence may take place within a time range, with the precise time unknown.  This table shows the earliest time that the offence may have occurred.
