Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

FOIA: The occupation rate of cells and overnight cells for the Coleraine Custody Suite from 01 June 2024 to 31 October 2024:

As the PSNI Coleraine Custody suite was reported to be used only on an ‘ad-hoc" basis from the 01 December 2023 onwards, if the PSNI Coleraine Custody suite was not operational at any time from 01 June 2024 to 31 October 2024, please state the exact time frame and date(s) that the PSNI Coleraine Custody suite was not operational and reasons for why it was not operational for each specific incident from 01 June 2024 to 31 October 2024.

Coleraine is a contingency suite and is only utilised when other suites in the District or adjacent districts are unavailable due to planned maintenance closure. The suite was opened on the dates outlined below and so was not opened on any of the dates not included in the table below.

Please state the occupancy rate by the sex - i.e. male and female only – of each cell occupant for each day, and also the occupancy rate by sex – for each individual cell occupant for an overnight incarceration for each individual date: 1 through 30 for June 2024, 1 through 31 for July 2024, 1 through 31 for August 2024, 1 through 30 for September 2024 and 1 through 31 for October 2024 for the PSNI Coleraine Custody suite with each specific day for each specific month following the below table format with June 2024 as an example:
