Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

I am seeking information regarding individuals arrested during the public disorder/unrest following the events in Southport in July–August 2024, within your force area. Specifically, for all individuals arrested in connection with these incidents, please provide:

The total number of individuals arrested.

48 arrests were made during the public disorder/unrest following the events in Southport in July–August 2024.

Request 2
Of those arrested:

1. How many had previous criminal convictions.
2. How many had a criminal record (whether conviction, caution, or other disposal).
3. How many had previously been arrested (prior to these incidents).
4. How many had previously been proceeded against (i.e. charged or taken to court).

2d) 31 have previously been proceeded against

Request 3
For those with previous convictions, please provide a breakdown by type of offence category (e.g. violence, theft, drugs, sexual offences, public order, etc.).

I am not requesting personal information or any data that would identify individuals. I am seeking only aggregated, statistical information. If providing all of the above would exceed the Section 12 cost/time limit, please provide as much of the information as can be supplied within the limit, starting with items (1) and (2).
