In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act, we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold the information you have requested to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

I’m wondering if you hold information about the gender of those calling the PSNI about domestic abuse or the gender of those the complaints are about.

From 1st March 2025 or the last three months, whatever length of time can be provided.
Answer
Searches have been conducted on PSNI systems from 1st March 2025 – 18th August 2025 regarding Domestic related calls, the originator/caller gender has been checked along with a person form attached labelled ‘offender’ or ‘arrested’ and their gender. Please note, that although highly likely, it does not necessarily mean that each individual was arrested/marked as offender as a direct result of the domestic. In some cases multiple offenders are mentioned in the same incident, where this is the case, these have been counted individually.
