Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

In response to your suggestion: "PSNI can advise that we can answer Requests 1 - 3 within cost if a newly refined request was submitted.", please find this as my filing of an FOI request pertaining to that information only.

I would like to file an FOI request for the following data, pertaining to the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (Clare's Law), for each annual period from 2014* - 2024 inclusive. Within each period that follows, please could you provide:

Request 1
How many DVDS requests were received within each period?

Request 2
How many of those requests within each period were fulfilled?

Request 3
How many of those requests within each period were rejected? 

Answers 1, 2 and 3

The requested information is recorded in financial years. Therefore, this is how it has been disclosed. 

The FOI Act applies to recorded information only; we are not required to create information in order to answer a request, i.e. convert from financial year to calendar year. 

Please see table below shows which shows the number of applications, disclosures and unsuccessful applications by financial year, as of 1st April 2025.

*Includes applications from the date the scheme started (26th March 2018).
