Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.
Request
I would like to know the number of persons who have been killed by shots fired by police officers in Northern Ireland between 2010 and 2013. If possible, I would also like to know if these persons were armed.
Answer
Between January 2010 and December 2013 no individuals were fatally wounded as a result of an on-duty PSNI officer discharging their firearm.
