Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

Request

I would like to request the following information for the last three years in which the information is available.

The total number of Fixed Penalty Notice and court fines which were given for licence plate offences, specifically the offence related to the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 under section 11.

Clarification To Requester

The following offences were included in the ‘number plate offences" group. Can you confirm which ones you want included in the total?

1.            No Number Plate
2.            Obscured Number Plate
3.            Failure To Illuminate Rear Number Plate
4.            No Rear Number Plate Illumination
5.            Defective Rear Number Plate Illumination
6.            Incorrect Form Of Registration Mark
7.            Improper Display Of Material On Vehicle Registration Plate
8.            Improper Registration Mark

Further we can provide those that resulted in fixed penalty notices and referrals for prosecution. In regards to court fines you must contact Courts NI directly.
