Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

The following data was obtained via a key text search on PSNI's Call Management's software, Control Works.

Has there been an increase in reports regarding generative AI in the last 12 months?

Yes - PSNI can advise that there were 48 serials located with the key term 'AI' in 2024.

Question 2
How many reports were made to the PSNI concerning generative AI in 2025?

Answer 2
There were 63 serials located with the key term 'AI' in 2025.

Question 3
Please detail where possible the categories or types of AI-generated content referenced in reported incidents (e.g., "misinformation”, "deepfakes”, "synthetic media”, "sexual content”, "violent content”, "child-safety-related
