What is the cut off point in age terms applied to a Constable & Sergeant who is ill health retired from the PSNI under the 1988 Police Pension Scheme from receiving the 7/60th enhanced ill health benefit?
Answer
The cut-off point in age terms applied to a Constable & Sergeant who is ill health retired from the PSNI under the 1988 PPS from receiving the 7/60ths enhanced ill health benefit depends on the individual circumstances of the officer and can differ from officer to officer.
The maximum ill health pension is 40/60ths for all officers and all enhancement is subject to the condition that pensionable service does not exceed what could have been completed by the Compulsory Retirement Age of 55 years old of the officer.

The cut-off point in age terms applied to an Inspector who is ill health retired from the PSNI under the 1988 PPS from receiving the 7/60ths enhanced ill health benefit depends on the individual circumstances of the officer and can differ from officer to officer.
The maximum ill health pension is 40/60ths and all enhancement is subject to the condition that pensionable service does not exceed what could have been completed by the Compulsory Retirement Age of 60 years old of the officer.
