Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.
Question 1
Please could you advise if either the quarterly or annual releases on Hate Motivations are provided to eligible persons on a pre-release access basis?
Answer
Pre-release access to the finalised financial year publications issued in May of each year was in place up to May 2019, with the May 2019 release being the last time this was done. Since 2020 there has been no pre-release access.
Question 2
If either the quarterly and/or the annual releases on Hate Motivations are provided to eligible persons on a pre-release access basis, please could you identify their Title and Organisation.

As per the response to Q1, this is not applicable.
Question 3
Please could you provide a copy of the ‘Statement of Compliance’ referred to in the Police Service of Northern Ireland Statistics Branch ‘Code of Practice for Official Statistics’ psni-official-statistics-documentation-2019.pdf, as the hyperlink to this appears to be broken.
Answer
Please see attached. This document is relevant in terms of how pre-release is applied in order to comply with the code of practice for official statistics. However as per Q1, pre-release access is no longer used for PSNI publications.
