Request and Answer:

Request 1

How many PSNI officers have received their standard driving course within the past 4 years and therefore are qualified to activate emergency equipment when deemed necessary?

Answer 
Between 10th January 2021-9th April 2025, a total of 1722 officers have completed the COTV26 - STANDARD DRIVING course.

Request 2 
Of those drivers, how many hold a category C licence?

Answer 
All drivers should hold category C1 as a prerequisite to the training course. 

However the exception is from September 2024 to date, 158 Student Officers leaving the College went directly on to their driving course. They are included in the response to Request 1 but is not recorded whether they had C1 on their licence as the prerequisite was removed for them.

Again of those drivers how many drivers have a notifiable DVLA medical condition?

How many PSNI drivers hold a standard driving capability with type 1 diabetes?
