The government has instructed the NCA to lead a push to reopen 800 cases of historic gang based CSE: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c70601550rro
I would be grateful if you could provide me with the aggregated data of the following:
The number of cases that you have been instructed to reopen
Request 2
The ethnicity of those identified as perpetrators in these cases within your policing area.
Request 3
The ethnicity of the victims of these cases.
Request 4
Communication received from the Home Office or NCA regarding the reopening of these cases, including the rationale for their identification, the means by which they are to be conducted once reopened, and any other communiques which have been received via letter, email or missive.
Answer
Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does not hold information in relation to your requests. Enquiries made in relation to your request failed to locate any records or documents relevant to your request based on the information you have provided.
The national audit on group based child sexual exploitation and abuse, led by Baroness Casey, applied only to cases originating in England and Wales. To date, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has not received any instruction to review or reopen non-recent child sexual exploitation cases.
Accordingly, we have determined that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does not hold the information to which you seek access.
