Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

How and when was a concern raised, in relation to the stretch of road at or near Millbank, Ballycrochan Road, Bangor that a failure to reduce speeds will result in KSI (killed or seriously injured) collisions and that the location poses a significant risk to road safety (i.e. the requirement for enforcement per RSP documentation)?

The grounds on which such a concern was considered well-founded enough to include this site as a Community Concern site, viz

Ballycrochan Road has been a Community Concern Site since March 2016.
Community Concern means that concerns have been raised through local Policing and Community Safety groups/local MLAs/PSNI area Commander about a disregard for speed in the area.

How many KSI collisions have been recorded for that site in the ten year period 2015-2024?
Answer 1b(i)
For the period 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2024, on the Ballycrochan Road between its junction with Donaghadee Road and the junction with Hawe Road, there were no KSI collisions reported to police.

How many slight injury collisions were recorded for that site in the same period?

For the period 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2024, on the Ballycrochan Road between its junction with Donaghadee Road and the junction with Hawe Road, there were 3 slight collisions reported to police.
