I would like to know the number of safer schools officers employed by the force who were working full time in schools in the years 2019,2020,2021,2022,2023 and 2024.
Answer
Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does not hold information in relation to your requests. Enquiries made in relation to your request failed to locate any records or documents relevant to your request based on the information you have provided.
PSNI do not employ Safer Schools officers and do not have dedicated officers attached to specific schools. Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers carry out talks in schools as part of their engagement approach with young people and schools within their district. They will endeavour to meet ad hoc or pre-arranged requests from schools in line with their capacity.
Accordingly, we have determined that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does not hold the information to which you seek access.
