Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold some information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

How often has the safety camera van operated on a Sunday from September 2024 until 14th February 2025?

Answer 1

On Sundays between 1st September 2024 – 9th February 2025, the Road Safety Partnership deployed 326 times to mobile safety camera sites.

Who decides the location sites for these speed camera vans while operating on a Sunday?

Answer 2

Deployments are detailed in advance to the operators by a supervisor.

What percentage of time do the Belfast vans spend in the below areas
a) West Belfast?
b) East Belfast?
c) North Belfast?
d) South Belfast?

Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership (NIRSP) deploys by district. Belfast City is one district. No data is held on percentage of time spent.

We do however hold the length of time in minutes spent at Belfast sites by the NIRSP on Sundays. The data below is based on those occurring between 1st September 2024 - 9th February 2024.
