Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

Request 1
Please can you tell me, for 2025, the following information from ViSOR:
The number of individuals added to the sex offenders register in 2025 (or the latest 12 months of data)

Answer 1 
The number of sexual offenders added to the Sex Offenders Register for the N. Ireland jurisdiction in the 12 months of 2025 was 280.

Request 2 
The number of these individuals who are listed on ViSOR as non-British nationals.

Request 3  
The number of these individuals who are listed on ViSOR as British nationals

Answers to Requests 2 and 3 
A number of police databases were reviewed, including ViSOR, in order to ascertain this data. The findings are as follows:

  • The number of individuals with a nationality or nationalities exclusively recorded as non–British
    - 37
  • The number of individuals with a nationality exclusively recorded as British – 58
  • The number of individuals with nationalities recorded as British and non-British – 5
  • The number of individuals who do not have a nationality recorded - 8

Having regard to nuances pertaining to nationality within regions of the UK, the following additional data is provided:

  • The number of individuals with a nationality exclusively recorded as a region of the UK – 147
  • The number of individuals with nationalities recorded as a region of the UK and non-British - 23
  • The number of individuals with nationalities recorded as British, a region of the UK, and non-British - 2
