Your request for information has now been considered. In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does hold information to which your request relates. The decision has been taken to disclose the following.
Request 1
For each of the calendar years 2023, 2024 and 2025, please provide:
The total number of speeding offences detected by your force, regardless of outcome (including fixed penalty notices, speed awareness courses, prosecutions, or other disposals).
Request 1a
Of these, the number of speeding offences detected in locations with a 20 mph speed limit zone.
If held, please provide the data broken down by year. If the data is not held exactly in this format, I would be grateful if you could provide the closest equivalent information available.
For clarity, this request relates to detected speeding offences, rather than notices issued or final outcomes, unless detections are not recorded separately.
