With regards to request 6 we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) does not hold information in relation to this request. Enquiries made in relation to your request failed to locate any records or documents relevant to your request based on the information you have provided. Accordingly, we have determined that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does not hold the information to which you seek access for this request and this is explained further below.
In respect of Section 1(1)(a) of the Act we can confirm that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does hold the information to which your request relates with regards to requests 1-5.The decision has been taken to disclose the following.

In 2025 (up to 31st May), the month with the highest number of Fixed Penalty Notices issued for speeding was April with 392.

Causes of car accidents – The leading cause of car accidents during each period, along with the month in each period in which this leading cause resulted in the highest number of accidents.
Answer 4
The leading principal causation factor for injury involved road traffic collisions in the calendar year 2024 was ‘Inattention or attention diverted’. The month with the highest number of collisions as a result of this causation factor was November.
The leading principal causation factor for injury involved road traffic collisions in the period 1st January to 31st May 2025 was ‘Inattention or attention diverted’. The month with the highest number of collisions as a result of this causation factor was April.

Seatbelt-related fatalities – The total number of fatalities caused by not wearing a seatbelt during each period, along with the month in each period that recorded the highest number of such fatalities.
Answer 5
There is no causation factor which is attributable to ‘not wearing a seatbelt’. The only available information is in relation to fatal casualty seatbelt usage.
Between 1st January 2024 and 31st May 2025, there were 11 fatal casualties not wearing a seatbelt in vehicles in which a seat belt is normally worn. Specific year and monthly breakdowns cannot be provided due to our statistical disclosure control policy.

Dropped kerb offences – The total number of enforcement actions (tickets, fines or penalty charge notices) issued for vehicles obstructing or parking on a dropped kerb during each period, along with the month in each period that recorded the highest number of such offences.
If possible, please provide the data in a spreadsheet format (e.g. CSV or Excel), with separate columns for each council area/district and period to allow for easier analysis.

There is no specific offence for dropped kerb offences, which are likely to be captured under wider offences such as ‘obstructing of a road by a motor vehicle, ’‘parking within 15 metres of a junction,’ or ‘causing an obstruction to any premises.’ It would not be possible to identify which offences related to a dropped kerb therefore information is not held.
Accordingly, we have determined that the Police Service of Northern Ireland does not hold the information to which you seek access.
