Missing from September 1969

Fourteen year old Jonathan Aven went missing from Sydenham Drive in East Belfast in September 1969 and was described by his father as “happy little boy” who attended Ashfield Boys “which he seemed to like and appeared to be doing well at.”

Detectives are aware of reports that Jonathan may have got the train to Bangor prior to his disappearance and may have been in the company of other boys including David Leckey. Police would be keen to hear from anyone who may have encountered the boys in any circumstances or location over the intervening years.
