A 22-year-old man arrested in Belfast on Monday, 19th August has been charged to court.
The charges relate to public disorder in the Broadway area of Belfast on Monday, 15th and Tuesday, 16th July and arson attacks on businesses and property in south Belfast on Saturday, 3rd August.
He has been charged with a total of 28 offences, including four counts of riot, four counts of arson and one count of arson with intent to endanger life.
The charges also include one count of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, following an assault on a police officer.
The man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, 20th August.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
