Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s International Policing Unit, working in partnership with An Garda Siochana, have today, Monday 19th August, extradited a 40-year-old man from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland.
The man is wanted to stand trial for offences of assault causing serious harm, threats to kill, possession of a firearm and possession of knives.
These offences are alleged to have occurred in the Dublin area in 2014 and 2015.
The man was arrested by the Police Service of Northern Ireland on 24th July 2018 and proceedings have completed today with his successful extradition to the Republic of Ireland.
Sergeant Davey from the Police Service's International Policing Unit said: “We continue to work with closely with An Garda Siochana to track down fugitives believed to be in Northern Ireland.
“Our message is clear that we will relentlessly pursue those that are trying to delay or deny justice to victims of crime.”
