Detectives in south Belfast are appealing for information following the report of a burglary in the Hillside Drive area of south Belfast.

It was reported around 1:30pm on Tuesday, 2nd December that on returning to his property, the homeowner found a male intruder in the house who assaulted him before making off from the scene.

On examination, a sum of cash has been stolen from the property.
