Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault in the John Street area of Derry/Londonderry on Friday afternoon, 26th September.

Police received a report that a man had been assaulted in the John Street area on Friday afternoon by at least two men. He was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries to his head.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Enquiries are ongoing and police would appeal to anyone who was in the area on Friday afternoon from 4.00pm to 6.00pm and who may have witnessed any assault or anyone who has any information in relation to the incidents to contact 101 quoting reference number CW 1018 - 26/09/25.
