Police in north Belfast have made two arrests following a reported aggravated burglary and assault in the city this morning, Friday 17th October.
Detective Sergeant Long said: "Officers were flagged down by a man shortly after midnight, who presented with facial and head injuries. He reported being assaulted by two men who forced entry to his property.
"Local policing officers were immediately dispatched to the address, where they located and arrested a 26-year-old and 33-year-old man.
"Both were arrested on a number of offences including aggravated burglary, possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances and attempted grievous bodily harm. They remain in custody at this time.
"The victim was conveyed to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening."
