Police in Derry/Londonderry made an arrest and seized suspected drugs in the Skeoge area of the city yesterday afternoon, 15 April.

At 4.55pm, officers from the Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were in the area conducting proactive patrols into scrambler and e-scooter misuse, when they were alerted to a male in the Glenabbey area. Following a search, they seized suspected Class A controlled drugs and suspected Class B controlled drugs. The male, aged 17, was arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Class A controlled drug, Possession of a Class B controlled drug and Possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply. He has since been bailed to allow for further police enquiries to be conducted. 

Inspector Robb from Ballyarnett NPT said: "Officers are continually working to prevent and detect as much drug-related activity as possible, and yesterday's proactive activity is an example of effective community-based policing at its best. 

"I am appealing to anyone with any information about suspected drug dealing in their area to report it to police on the non-emergency number 101."
