Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team are investigating the sudden death of a woman in Bangor.
Police were called to a property in the Skipperstone Road area at approximately 2am on Tuesday 14 July, where a 44-year-old woman was found unresponsive. Despite treatment in hospital, she sadly died on the evening of Friday 17 July.
A 54-year-old man, who was arrested on Tuesday 14 July on suspicion of carrying out an assault, was subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.
A post mortem examination has now taken place, however, further tests by the pathologist are required to support and inform the investigative process.
Specialist officers continue to provide support to the family, as the investigation continues.
